We’ve been celebrating Samhain here for millennia, and throwing our huge Halloween party – the biggest in Europe – for almost forty years.
Over the decades, we’ve perfected our recipe for THE best Halloween festival: blending ancient folklore, modern thrills, a cast of thousands, and plenty of our signature Derry fun and friendliness.
This year, discover even more surprises in the mix, in the Home of Halloween.
Our story began almost forty years ago, with a fancy dress event in a pub (did we mention we love a good party?). Word soon spread that Derry was the place to be every Halloween, and before we knew it, visitors were coming from all over the world to enjoy our epic fireworks, grassroots carnival and out-of-this world costumes.

Awakening the Walled City Trail
For the three nights before October 31, embark on a magical journey through the City of Bones, as the spirits cross over to join the festivities, bringing magic and mischief to the streets.

Our folklore-filled, historical haven on the banks of the beautiful River Foyle is made for spooky shenanigans. Here, the spirit of Samhain is all around. You can feel it in your bones, sense it in the Derry air and almost see it seep out of the city’s famous walls.
